The Bay Area Quilt Guild meets the first Tuesday of the month at 6:30 p/m/ at Mount Olive Lutheran Church.

 

  • The Compassionate Friends

The nearest TCF chapter meets on the third Tuesday of every month at 7 p.m. at the Hope and Healing Center located on the St. Martin’s Episcopal Church campus. TCF is a non-denominational, self-help organization offering friendship, emotional support and understanding to bereaved parents after the death of a child at any age.   • Friends of the Parker Williams Library

Friends of the Parker Williams Library meetings, with coffee and doughnuts, are held Monday before the last Saturday of the month at 9:30 a.m. as needed. Call the library at 281-484-2036 for more information.

 

The Lions Club is the world’s largest service club organization through which people serve their fellow man. The Club helps the community by providing a campsite for special needs children for the summer. The South Belt is served by the Hobby Airport Lions which meets the first and third Wednesday of each month at 11:30 a.m. at Golden Corral.   • South Belt-Ellington Super Neighborhood

The super Neighborhood program, sponsored by the city of Houston, is designed to unite a defined portion of the city as a recognized, incorporated group working to prioritize local city spending in Houston. The Super Neighborhood has the authority to recommend budget items which affect the local community. Major projects the organization has impacted include the repaving of sections of Beamer Road and the building of football fields at Blackhawk Park location Anyone wishing to work with the organization may call 281-481-5656
