South Belt-Ellington Chamber of Commerce
Honors Top Students
The South Belt-Ellington Chamber of Commerce revived one of its legacy events, the Top Ten Luncheon, on Thursday, April 16th, to recognize outstanding students from Clear Creek ISD's Clear Horizon Early College High School (CHECHS), Pasadena ISD's J. Frank Dobie High School, and Lutheran South Academy (LSA).
Dr. Hoang Le, Memorial Hermann general surgeon and Dobie High School alumnus, delivered the keynote address, encouraging attendees to set clear goals, develop perseverance, measure achievements by personal standards, and recognize that hard work underpins success.
Harris County Precinct 2 Commissioner Adrian Garcia's office recognized each student with a ceremonial document. The chamber also presented certificates of achievement and engraved pens as mementos.
Sponsors shared personal anecdotes about the students they supported, adding a warm, meaningful dimension to the event.
Three $1,000 scholarships were awarded to the following students:
* Kennedi Brown — CHECHS
* Jonathan Maximos — Dobie High School
* Evelyn Watkins — Lutheran South Academy
Congratulations to this year’s honorees, and thank you to Dr. Hoang Le, our sponsors, and everyone who made this event possible.
